Bonsai at the Spring Festival

 

HANFORD, California – The Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture will present the 8th Annual Spring Festival on Sunday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program will include storytelling by Megumi, bonsai demonstration and auction by Kenji Miyata, tea ceremonies, garden tours, origami and misuhiki workshops, aikido performances, a ceramics workshop, and a raffle. Bento box lunches will be available for purchase. A number of local artists will be selling their arts and crafts.  Some events are ticketed and others are free.

 

      The current gallery exhibition of "In Celebration of Nature's

Timely Blooming: Flowers of the Four Seasons" is extended to March 29. The exhibition “Traces of China: The Japanese Transformation of Chinese Themes and Techniques” will start on April 5.

 

      The Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture is located at 15770 Tenth Ave., Hanford, CA 93230, (559) 582-4915, www.ccjac.org. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Closed on national holidays.  Docent tours are given every Saturday at 1 p.m.
